Project Manager The PM is assigned a portfolio of projects and is the primary responsible party for planning, resourcing, billing, tracking and closing out that portfolio on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of our clients. This work entails working in an ambiguous environment under fast paced circumstances. This demands ability to work quickly, exercise good judgement, working on creative solutions for problems and take action through direct communication with necessary parties to meet deadlines while balancing conflicting stakeholder needs. The PM leads, manages and coordinates the efforts of all parties involved in completing a project: designers install crew, woodshop coordination, accounting, logistics and outside vendors. Job Description:
Manage all phases of the job including: sales orders, detailing, production, delivery and installation crews
Oversee design development process, integration of drafting, interactives, graphics, and others as necessary to ensure design is kept within budget targets
Work with production team to ensure project build is maintained on schedule and on budget
Coordinate work with other trades, monitor GC progress on job site
Attendance at weekly company and client meetings to ensure project progress is current to project expectations
Job site visits as required and to obtain field dimensions
Ensure quality control of work both in manufacturing and job site
Manage site team and coordinate resources to facilitate installation phase
Must be able to produce well-written and effective email communication
Punch list management
Subcontractor/installation management
Plan, organize and supervise field installations
Understand estimating and production as they relate to shop drawings, material yield and labor
Must be able to interpret architectural prints and specs, material takeoff information, and any additional information from sales to properly communicate customer expectations to production
Ensure compliance with all design and material specifications
Monitor project dates and process through to completion
Document and communicate any change orders on site and the billing of all CO requests
Manage the coordination of daily construction activity
Project Management Skill Set Requirements:
Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong
Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions
Understand and apply complex math and measuring calculations necessary for use in the job
Must maintain a positive attitude even in difficult circumstances
Strong communicator with management, supervisors, peers using proper chain of command
Computer literacy using MS systems, Excel, Word, Gmail
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and juggle many projects at once
Willingness to contribute above daily tasks to help company to meet tight deadlines
High energy individual who can manage multiple large projects
Hands on attitude
Project Management Qualifications:
Solid restaurant millwork and equipment experience
Experience in the construction industry a plus
AutoCad experience strongly desired
Sketch Up experience strongly desired
Must be able to handle travel, sometimes for extended periods (2-3 weeks at busy times)
Be familiar with cabinet construction and drawing requirements to adhere to the industry’s governing bodies (AWI, QCP, LEED, FSC, etc.)
